Hadith 39974
٣٩٩٧٤ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن زيد بن وهب عن عبد اللَّه قال: لما بعث (عثمان إليه) (١) يأمره بالخروج إلى المدينة اجتمع الناس إليه فقالوا له: أقم، لا تخرج، فنحن نمنعك، لا يصل إليك منه شيء تكرهه، فقال عبد اللَّه: إنها ستكون أمور وفق، (لا) (٢) أحب أن أكون أنا أول من فتحها وله علي (طاعة) (٣)، قال: فرد الناس وخرج إليه (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah that when Hazrat Uthman ordered him to leave for Madinah, people gathered around him and said to him, "Stay, we will protect you and nothing undesirable will reach you." Hazrat Abdullah replied, "Indeed, soon there will be some matters and tribulations. I do not wish to be the first among those who open them. They have a right of obedience over me." The narrator states that he sent the people back and left according to the order of Hazrat Uthman.
