Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I was present at the place of Mu'tah. When we did not find Hazrat Ja'far bin Abi Talib among the living, we began to search for him among the slain. Thus, we found him in such a state that he had about fifty wounds from swords and spears. And we found all these wounds on the front part of Hazrat Ja'far's body.
