It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that when the verses {إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَک فَتْحًا مُبِینًا } till the end were revealed to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on his return from the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, his companions were in a mixed state of sorrow and dejection. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A verse has been revealed to me which is more beloved to me than the world and whatever is in it." Then, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse, one of the people said: "Whatever Allah has stated will be done with you; you will find it pleasant and delightful, but what will be done with us?" Upon this, Allah Almighty revealed the next verse to these verses: "So that He may admit the believing men and women into gardens beneath which rivers flow..." till the end of the verse.
