Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Mujashi’ bin Mas’ud narrates that my brother and I presented ourselves before the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. He says: I submitted, “O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon you! Take our pledge of allegiance for migration.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Migration has ended for the people of migration.” I submitted, “O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon you! Then on what should we pledge allegiance to you?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “On Islam and Jihad.” The narrator says: Then I met Mujashi’s brother and I asked him; he replied, “Mujashi’ has spoken the truth.”
