Hadith 39678
٣٩٦٧٨ - حدثنا ابن عيينة عن ابن أبي نجيح (عن مجاهد) (١) عن أبي معمر عن عبد اللَّه قال: دخل النبي ﷺ مكة وحول الكعبة ثلاثمائة وستون صنما فجعل يطعنها بعود كان في يده ويقول: ﴿وَقُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا﴾ [الإسراء: ٨١] ﴿جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ﴾ [سبأ: ٤٩] (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah, there were three hundred and sixty idols around the Ka'bah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began striking them with the stick that was in his hand and said: "Truth has come and falsehood has vanished; indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish." "Truth has come, and falsehood can neither originate anything nor restore it."
