Hadith 39631
٣٩٦٣١ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال: (أخبرنا) (١) محمد بن إسحاق عن ابن أبي نجيح عن مجاهد عن ابن عباس أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال يوم الحديبية: "يرحم اللَّه المحلقين"، قالوا: يا رسول اللَّه، والمقصرين؟ قال: " (يرحم) (٢) اللَّه المحلقين" -ثلاثًا- قالوا: والمقصرين يا رسول اللَّه؟ قال: "والمقصرين"، قالوا: (يا رسول اللَّه) (٣) ما بال المحلقين ظاهرت لهم الترحم؟ قال: "إنهم لم يشكوا" (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said on the day of Hudaybiyyah: May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads. The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! And those who trim their hair? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (again) said: May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads... He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times... The companions submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! And those who trim their hair? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (May Allah have mercy) on those who trim their hair as well. The companions submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What was the reason that you prayed for mercy for those who shave their heads (halq) more (three times)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They did not have any doubt at all.
