Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Najiyah bin Jundub bin Najiyah narrates that when we reached the place of Ghamim, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) received news that the Quraysh had sent Khalid bin Walid with a cavalry detachment, who was to meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked the idea of meeting them, because he (peace and blessings be upon him) had great mercy for them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who is the person who will divert us from this path?" (i.e., take us on another route). I said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! May my parents be sacrificed for you. I will take you." He says: So I led them on such a difficult path, which had valleys and ups and downs. Then, when we reached level ground, I made the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) camp at the place of Hudaybiyyah, and the water of that place had run out. Najiyah says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) put one or two arrows from his quiver into its well, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) put his blessed saliva in it and then prayed. The narrator says: Then its springs gushed forth until I—or we—said, "If we wish, we can fill our bowls (vessels) with water."
