Hadith 39546
٣٩٥٤٦ - حدثنا عفان قال: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة قال: (أخبرنا) (١) عطاء بن السائب عن الشعبي أن امرأة دفعت (إلى) (٢) ابنها يوم أحد السيف، فلم يطلق حمله ⦗٤٧٩⦘ فشدته على ساعده بنسعة، ثم أتت به النبي ﵊ فقالت: يا رسول اللَّه هذا ابني يقاتل عنك، فقال النبي ﵊: "أي بني احمل هاهنا أي بني احمل هاهنا"، فأصابته جراحة، فصرع فأتى النبي ﷺ فقال: "أي بني لعلك جزعت؟ " قال: لا، يا رسول اللَّه (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that on the day of Uhud, a woman gave her son a sword, but the boy did not have the strength to lift the sword. So the woman tied the sword to the boy's arm with a rope. Then the woman brought the boy to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This is my son and he will fight on your behalf." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "O son! Attack in this direction. O son! Attack in that direction." Then the boy was wounded and fell down. Then the boy was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O son! Perhaps you became afraid?" He replied, "No, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!"
