Hadith 39254
٣٩٢٥٤ - حدثنا هشيم أخبرنا يونس عن الحسن عن أبي (بكرة) (١) قال: انكسفت الشمس (أو القمر) (٢) على عهد رسول اللَّه ﷺ فقال: "إن الشمس والقمر ⦗٣٣١⦘ آيتان من آيات اللَّه، لا ينكسفان لموت أحد من الناس، فإذا كان ذلك فصلوا حتى تنجلي" (٣).
Hazrat Abu Bakrah narrates that during the blessed time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, there was a solar or lunar eclipse. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of anyone’s death among the people. So if this happens, then perform prayer until the eclipse is over.
