Hadith 39041
٣٩٠٤١ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن الأسود عن عائشة قالت: أراد أهل بريرة أن يبيعوها ويشترطوا الولاء فذكرت ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال: ⦗٢٧٤⦘ "اشتريها وأعتقيها (فإن) (١) (الولاء) (٢) لمن أعتق" (٣).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the owners of Barirah intended to sell her and set the condition of wala’ (inheritance after the death of a freed slave). So I mentioned this matter to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Buy her and set her free, for wala’ belongs only to the one who sets free.
