Hadith 39037
٣٩٠٣٧ - حدثنا حفص عن أشعث عن ابن سيرين عن (شريح) (١) قال: من كسر عودا فهو له وعليه مثله.
Hazrat Shurayh says: Whoever breaks a piece of wood, the broken wood will belong to the one who broke it, and he will be liable for its equivalent. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion is mentioned contrary to this: and he has said that its price will be obligatory upon him.
