Hadith 38536
٣٨٥٣٦ - حدثنا عفان (١) حدثنا شعبة عن أبي إسحاق سمعت البراء يقول: أول من قدم علينا من أصحاب (رسول) (٢) اللَّه ﷺ مصعب بن عمير وابن أم مكتوم فجعلا (يقرئان) (٣) القرآن، قال: ثم جاء عمار وبلال وسعد، ثم جاء عمر بن الخطاب في عشرين، ثم جاء رسول اللَّه ﷺ، فما رأيت أهل المدينة فرحوا بشيء فرحهم به (٤).
Hazrat Bara narrates that among the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the first to come to us (in Madinah Munawwarah) were Hazrat Mus'ab bin Umair and Hazrat Ibn Umm Maktum. Both of them began teaching people the Qur'an. Then Hazrat Ammar, Hazrat Bilal, and Hazrat Sa'd came. Then Hazrat Umar bin Khattab arrived with twenty horsemen. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came. I have never seen the people of Madinah as happy about anything as I saw them at the arrival of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
