ما قالوا: في البكاء من خشية اللهOn Weeping from the Fear of Allah
Hadith 38459
٣٨٤٥٩ - حدثنا محمد بن عبد اللَّه قال: حدثنا ابن أبي راود أن قوما صحبوا عمر ابن عبد العزيز فقال: عليكم بتقوى اللَّه وحده لا شريك له، وإياي والمزاح، فإنه (يجر) (١) القبيح ويورث الضغينة، وتجالسوا بالقرآن وتحدثوا (به) (٢)، فإن ثقل عليكم (فحديث) (٣) من حديث الرجال، (سيروا) (٤) باسم اللَّه.
Hazrat Ibn Abi Rawad says that a group accompanied Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him), so he said: Fear only Allah, who has no partner, and avoid joking, because joking produces vile things and creates malice. And hold gatherings of the Qur'an and speak only about matters related to it. Then, if you feel burdened, you may talk about something from the people's conversations. Walk on the earth with the name of Allah.
