٣٨٢٤٣ - حدثنا عفان قال: حدثنا حماد قال: أخبرنا ثابت أن أبا بكر كان يتمثل هذا البيت: ⦗٤٦⦘ لا (تزال) (١) (تنعى) (٢) (حبيبا) (٣) حتى تكونه … وقد يرجو الفتى (رجا) (٤) يموت دونه (٥)
Hazrat Hammad says that Thabit has reported that Abu Bakr is like a verse of poetry: "You kept calling your beloved constantly, until you yourself became the beloved, and sometimes a person desires something, but before attaining it, death comes to him."
