٣٧٨٦٤ - حدثنا عفان قال: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت قال: كنا عند مطرف فذكرنا اللَّه ودعوناه فقال: (واللَّه) (١) (لئن) (٢) كان هذا مما سبق لكم في الذكر لقد أراد اللَّه بكم خيرًا، وإن كان مما يحدث في الليل والنهار لقد أراد اللَّه بكم خيرا، فأيُّ ذلك ما كان فاحمدوا اللَّه عليه.
It is narrated from Hazrat Thabit that he says: We were with Hazrat Mutarrif. So we mentioned Allah and prayed to Allah. Then he said: By God! The time you spent in the remembrance of Allah, indeed Allah intended good for you. And if the coming days and nights are also like this for you, then Allah has intended good for you. Whichever of these happens, you should praise Allah for it.
