Hadith 37550
٣٧٥٥٠ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت البناني عن أنس قال: (كنا) (١) مع أبي موسى في (منزله) (٢) فسمع الناس يتكلمون فسمع فصاحة وبلاغة، قال: فقال: يا أنس هلم فلنذكر اللَّه (ساعة) (٣)، فإن هؤلاء يكاد أحدهم أن (يفري) (٤) الأديم بلسانه، ثم قال: يا أنس ما ثبط الناس عن الآخرة؟ ما ثبطهم عنها؟ قال: قلت: الدنيا والشهوات، قال: لا، ولكن غيبت الآخرة، وعجلت الدنيا، ولو عاينوا ما عدلوا بينهما (ولا ميلوا) (٥) (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he says: We were with Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) at his house when he heard some people talking, and he listened to them with eloquence and fluency. The narrator says that he (Abu Musa) said: O Anas! Come, let us remember Allah for a while. Because these are such that one of them could cut leather with his tongue. Then he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: What has prevented people from the Hereafter? What has stopped them from it? The narrator says I said: The world and desires. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: No. Rather, the Hereafter is hidden from the eyes and the world is present. If people were to witness (the Hereafter), they would neither act justly among them nor hesitate.
