Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Muhammad that he says a man came to Hazrat Mu'adh bin Jabal with his friends. They greeted Hazrat Mu'adh with salam, then bid farewell and requested advice. Hazrat Mu'adh said to them, "I advise you regarding two things. If you safeguard them, you will be protected. First, do not consider yourself rich from your share of the world, and you are in greater need of your share of the Hereafter. Therefore, give preference to your share of the Hereafter over your share of the world. Because your share of the world will either pass away from you or come to you and join you, and wherever you settle, it will settle with you."
