كلام أبي الدرداء ﵁Sayings of Abu al-Darda’ رضي الله عنه
Hadith 37312
٣٧٣١٢ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبد الحميد (بن) (١) جعفر قال: حدثني صالح بن أبي (عريب) (٢) عن كثير بن مرة الحضرمي قال: سمعت أبا الدرداء يقول: ألا أخبركم بخير أعمالكم (٣) أحبها إلى مليككم، وأنماها في درجاتكم، خير من (أن) (٤) تغزوا عدوكم فيضربوا رقابكم وتضربوا رقابهم، خير من إعطاء الدنانير والدراهم، قالوا: وما هي يا أبا الدرداء؟ قال: ذكر اللَّه (٥) أكبر (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Kathir bin Murrah Hadhrami that he says: I heard Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) say: Shall I not tell you of the best of deeds, which is most beloved to your Lord and which raises your ranks the most? Even better than fighting your enemy, so that they strike your necks and you strike their necks? Better than giving dirhams and dinars? The people asked: O Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him), what is that? He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: The remembrance of Allah. And the remembrance of Allah is a very great thing.
