كلام أبي الدرداء ﵁Sayings of Abu al-Darda’ رضي الله عنه
Hadith 37306
٣٧٣٠٦ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن خالد بن دينار عن معاوية بن قرة قال: قال: أبو الدرداء: ليس الخير أن يكثر مالك وولدك، ولكن الخير أن يعظم حلمك وأن يكثر (عملك) (١) وأن (تباري) (٢) الناس في عبادة اللَّه، فإن أحسنت حمدت اللَّه، وإن أسأت استغفرت اللَّه (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Muawiyah bin Qurrah that he says Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is not goodness that your children and wealth become abundant, rather goodness is that your forbearance increases and your deeds become more, and you surpass others in the worship of Allah. Then if you do a good deed, you praise Allah, and if you do a bad deed, you seek forgiveness from Allah.
