Hadith 37270
٣٧٢٧٠ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن عمارة عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد عن عبد اللَّه قال: أنتم أكثر صياما وأكثر صلاة وأكثر (جهادًا) (١) من أصحاب رسول اللَّه ﷺ وهم كانوا خيرا منكم، قالوا: لم يا أبا عبد الرحمن؟ قال: كانوا أزهد في الدنيا وأرغب في الآخرة (٢).
It is narrated from Abdullah, he says: You surpass the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in fasting, prayers, and jihad, but they were better than you. People asked: O Abu Abdur Rahman! Why? He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: They were more disinterested in the world and more desirous of the Hereafter.
