Hadith 37090
٣٧٠٩٠ - حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن محمد بن عمرو عن أبي سلمة عن عائشة قالت: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ (في مرضه) (١) (الذي مات فيه) (٢): "ما فعلت الذهبُ؟ " فقلت: عندي يا رسول اللَّه، قال: "ائتني بها"، فأتيته بها، وهي ما بين الخمسة إلى التسعة فجعلها في كفه، فقال: بها، ثم قال: "ما ظن محمد (٣) بها أن لو لقي اللَّه وهذه عنده، أنفقيها (يا) (٤) عائشة" (٥).
Narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in his illness in which he passed away, said: "What happened to the gold?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! It is with me." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring it to me." So I brought it and presented it to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was between five and nine (coins). Thus, he (peace and blessings be upon him) placed it in his palm and turned it over, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If this gold had remained with Muhammad ﷺ and he had met Allah, what would Muhammad ﷺ be thought of? O Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her)! Spend it."
