Hadith 36589
٣٦٥٨٩ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا همام قال: دخل أبو داود الأعمى على قتادة، فلما خرج قالوا له: هذا يروي عن ثمانية عشر بدريًا، (قال: هذا كان) (١) سائلًا قبل الجارف لا يعرض لشيء (من هذا) (٢)، فواللَّه ما حدثنا (الحسن) (٣) وسعيد ابن المسيب عن بدري مشافهة إلا سعيد عن (سعد) (٤).
Hazrat Hammam narrates that Hazrat Abu Dawood, who was blind, went to Hazrat Qatadah. When he left from him, people said to Hazrat Qatadah: This person narrates from eighteen Badr companions (may Allah be pleased with them). Hazrat Qatadah said: He used to ask questions before the plague that caused destruction. He knows nothing about this. By Allah, Hasan and Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib did not narrate directly from any Badr companion, except for Hazrat Saeed who narrates from Hazrat Saad.
