Hadith 36585
٣٦٥٨٥ - حدثنا ابن علية عن يونس قال: لما توفي سعيد بن (أبي) (١) الحسن وجد عليه الحسن، وجدا شديدًا، فكلم في ذلك فقال: ما سمعت اللَّه عاب على يعقوب الحزن.
It is narrated from Yunus that when Saeed bin Abu Al-Hasan passed away, Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) became very deeply grieved and distressed. When this was mentioned to him, he said: I have not heard that Allah ever criticized the distress and grief that befell Yaqub (Jacob) due to the separation from Yusuf (Joseph). Hasan said: When Utbah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) became very sorrowful. When he was spoken to about this, he said: By Allah, when Allah has decreed what He has decreed, I do not like to pray about it and have my prayer answered.
