Hadith 36106
٣٦١٠٦ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن الأعمش عن أبي إسحاق قال: لما أسلم عكرمة ابن أبي جهل أتى النبي ﷺ فقال: يا رسول اللَّه، واللَّه لا أترك مقامًا قمته لأصد به عن سبيل اللَّه إلا قمت (مثله) (١) في سبيل اللَّه، (ولا أترك نفقة أنفقتها لأصد بها عن سبيل اللَّه إلا أنفقت مثلها في سبيل اللَّه) (٢)، فلما كان يوم اليرموك نزل فترجل فقاتل قتالا شديدا فقتل، فوجد به بضع وسبعون من بين طعنة وضربة ورمية (٣).
Hazrat Abu Ishaq narrates that when Ikrimah bin Abu Jahl accepted Islam and presented himself before the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Whatever methods I adopted to hinder people from the path of Allah, I will now adopt every such method in the path of Allah, and as much wealth as I spent to prevent people from the path of Allah, I will now spend the same amount in the path of Allah." In the Battle of Yarmouk, Hazrat Ikrimah (may Allah be pleased with him) dismounted from his ride and fought on foot with great bravery, and then he was martyred. There were more than seventy marks of spears, swords, and arrows on his body.
