Hadith 36088
٣٦٠٨٨ - حدثنا ريحان بن سعيد قال: حدثني (مرزوق) (١) بن (عمرو) (٢) قال: حدثني أبو فرقد قال: كنا مع أبي موسى يوم فتحنا سوق الأهواز، فسعى رجل من المشركين، وسعى رجلان من المسلمين خلفه قال: فبينا هو يسعى ويسعيان إذ قال له أحدهما: مترس، فقام الرجل فأخذاه، (فجاءا) (٣) به أبا موسى، وأبو موسى يضرب أعناق الأسارى حتى انتهى الأمر إلى الرجل، فقال أحد الرجلين: إن هذا (٤) جعل له الأمان، قال أبو موسى: وكيف جعل له الأمان؟ قال: إنه كان يسعى ذاهبا في الأرض فقلت له: مترس فقام، فقال (٥) أبو موسى: وما مترس؟ قال: لا تخف، قال: هذا أمان، خليا سبيله، قال: (فخليا) (٦) سبيل الرجل (٧).
Hazrat Abu Farqad narrates that when we conquered the market of Ahwaz under the leadership of Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him), a man from the polytheists ran away. Two Muslims also ran after him. While running, one of the Muslims said to him, "Matras." Hearing this, he stopped, and they caught him and brought him to Hazrat Abu Musa. Hazrat Abu Musa was beheading the prisoners; when it was this man's turn, the Muslims who had caught him said that he had been granted protection. Hazrat Abu Musa asked, "How was he granted protection?" The man said, "He was running away, and I said to him, 'Matras,' so he stopped." Hazrat Abu Musa asked, "What does 'Matras' mean?" He replied, "It means 'Do not be afraid.'" Hazrat Abu Musa said, "This is protection. Let the man go." Therefore, the man was set free.
