Hadith 35985
٣٥٩٨٥ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن زكريا بن أبي زائدة عن خالد بن سلمة القرشي عن عامر الشعبي قال: كتب خالد بن الوليد (زمن الحيرة) (١) إلى مرازبة فارس: ﷽ من خالد بن الوليد إلى مرازية فارس، سلام على من اتبع الهدى، أما بعد فإني أحمد إليكم اللَّه الذي لا إله إلا هو، الحمد للَّه الذي (فض) (٢) خدمتكم وفرق جمعكم وخالف بين كلمتكم، فإذا جاءكم كتابي هذا فاعتقدوا مني الذمة، وأجيبوا إلى الجزية، فإن لم تفعلوا أتيتكم بقوم يحبون الموت (حبكم) (٣) الحياة (٤).
Hazrat Amir Sha'bi narrates that Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter from Hira to the chiefs of Persia, in which it was written: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful: From Khalid bin Walid to the chiefs of Persia. Peace be upon those who follow guidance. I praise Allah, besides whom there is no deity. All praise is for Allah who has scattered your powers, separated your hearts, weakened your strength, and taken away your wealth. When this letter reaches you, send the jizya to me, and accept living with us as dhimmis. If you do not do so, then by Allah, besides whom there is no deity, I will send to you a people who love death as you love life.
