٣٥٧١٩ - حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن الأوزاعي قال: حدثني ابن سراقة أن أبا عبيدة بن الجراح كتب لأهل (دير طيايا) (١): عليكم إنزال الضيف ثلاثة أيام، ⦗٤٧٧⦘ (وأن) (٢) ذمتنا (بريئة) (٣) من معرة الجيش (٤).
Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to the people of Deir: It is obligatory upon you to honor a guest for three days, and indeed our responsibility is free from the oppression of the army; by the oppression of the army is meant using the crops of the dhimmis without permission.
