Hadith 35715
٣٥٧١٥ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن حارثة بن مضرب العبدي عن عمر أنه اشترط على أهل الذمة ضيافة يوم وليلة، فإن حبسهم مطر أو ⦗٤٧٦⦘ مرض فيومين، فإن أقاموا أكثر من ذلك أنفقوا من أموالهم، ولم يكلفوا إلا ما يطيقونه (١).
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) stipulated the condition of one day and one night of hospitality for the dhimmis, and if they are prevented by rain or fall ill, then two days; and if they stay longer than this, then their expenses should be borne from their own wealth, and they should not be burdened except with what they are able to bear.
