Hadith 35690
٣٥٦٩٠ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا إسرائيل عن جابر عن عامر أن دحية الكلبي أهدى إلى النبي ﷺ جبة وخفين فقبلهما ولبسهما حتى خرقهما، و (يقسم) (١) الشعبي: ما (يدري) (٢) (ذكي) (٣) هما أم لا (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Dihyah al-Kalbi sent the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a cloak and two socks as a gift. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted them and continued to wear them until they wore out. Hazrat Sha’bi says: I do not know whether they were made from the same leather from which socks are made or not.
