Hadith 35688
٣٥٦٨٨ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا ابن عون عن الحسن أن عياض بن حمار أهدى إلى النبي ﷺ هدية فقال له النبي ﷺ: "يا عياض، هل كنت أسلمت؟ " فقال: لا، فردها عليه وقال: "إنا لا نقبل زيد المشركين" (١).
It is narrated from Hasan that Iyad bin Himar sent a gift to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: O Iyad! Have you become a Muslim? He replied: No. The Prophet (peace be upon him) returned his gift to him and said: We do not accept the gift (present) of polytheists.
