Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that once one of the noble wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ghusl (ritual bath) from a large vessel of water. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to perform ghusl or wudu from that water, she said, "O Messenger of Allah! I was in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity)." He replied, "Water does not become impure."
