Hadith 35457
٣٥٤٥٧ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن يحيى بن سعيد قال: ذكرت لسعيد بن المسيب قال: غزوت الدرب، فلما وجهنا قافلين بعثوا السرايا بعد أن وجهنا قافلين، فقيل: لكم ما غنمتم إلا الخمس، فقال سعيد بن المسيب: ما كان (الناس) (١) ينفلون إلا من الخمس.
Hazrat Yahya bin Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him): I participated in jihad in the region of Darb. When we departed, some expeditions were sent after us. They were told that you will receive the spoils of war except for the khums. What do you say about this? Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib replied that people used to give nafl (voluntary charity) only from the khums.
