Hadith 35352
٣٥٣٥٢ - حدثنا (محمد بن) (١) مصعب عن الأوزاعي قال: سألت الزهري عن العدو إذا ظهر عليهم (أيقتل) (٢) علوجهم؟ قال: كان عمر يقتل العلوج إذا ظهر ⦗٣٨٢⦘ عليهم ويسبون مع ذلك (٣).
Hazrat Awza'i (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) about the enemy: when they are overpowered, should their messenger also be killed? He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to kill the messenger when victory was achieved over them, and he would also take them captive along with that.
