Hadith 35090
٣٥٠٩٠ - حدثنا معتمر بن سليمان عن داود عن يوسف بن سعد عن وهيب أن زيد بن ثابت كان في إمارة عثمان على بيت المال، قال: فدخل عثمان (فأبصر) (١) ⦗٣٠١⦘ (وهيبا) (٢) يعينهم فقال: من هذا؟ فقال: مملوك لي، فقال: أراه يعينهم، افرض له ألفين، قال: ففرض له ألفًا (٣).
Hazrat Wahib, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit, may Allah be pleased with him, was appointed as the supervisor of the treasury (Bait-ul-Mal) during the caliphate of Hazrat Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him. One day Hazrat Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, came and saw that Wahib was helping him. He, may Allah be pleased with him, asked: Who is this? Hazrat Zaid, may Allah be pleased with him, replied: He is my slave. He, may Allah be pleased with him, said: I think he was helping those people, so fix two thousand for him. So he, may Allah be pleased with him, fixed one thousand for him.
