Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Munzir (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Alaa bin Ahmar Al-Yashkari or Hazrat Ibn Buraidah (may Allah have mercy on him)—one of these two—said: Some people from among the Muhajireen said to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): When we saw the enemy, we saw them in such a state that they had concealed their weapons in silk. Seeing this, we became anxious. Upon this, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you wish, you too may conceal your weapons with silk and brocade.
