ما ذكر في فضل قريشNarrations Mentioned Regarding the Virtue of Quraysh
Hadith 34566
٣٤٥٦٦ - حدثنا الفضل بن دكين عن عبد اللَّه بن (مبشر) (١) عن زيد (بن) (٢) (أبي) (٣) عتاب (قال) (٤): قام معاوية على المنبر فقال: قال النبي ﷺ: "الناس تبع لقريش في هذا الأمر، خيارهم في الجاهلية خيارهم في الإسلام إذا فقهوا، واللَّه لولا ⦗١٦٣⦘ أن تبطر قريش لأخبرتها بما لخيارها عند اللَّه" (٥).
Hazrat Zaid bin Abi Atab (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood on the pulpit and said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: People are followers of the Quraysh in the matter of caliphate. Those among the Quraysh who were the best in the time of ignorance are also the best in Islam, provided they are given understanding. By Allah, if the Quraysh had not become arrogant, I would have told them how excellent they are in the sight of Allah!
