Hadith 33972
٣٣٩٧٢ - حدثنا هوذة قال: (حدثنا) (١) عوف عن يزيد الفارسي قال: رأيت رسول اللَّه ﷺ في النوم زمن ابن عباس على البصرة، قال: فقلت لابن عباس: إني رأيت رسول اللَّه ﷺ في النوم، قال: فهل تستطيع (٢) تنعت هذا الرجل الذي (رأيت؟) (٣) قلت: نعم، أنعت لك رجلا بين الرجلين جسمه ولحمه أسمر (إلى) (٤) البياض، حسن المضحك أكحل العينين جميل دوائر الوجه، قد ملأت لحيته من لدن هذه إلى هذه، وأشار بيده إلى (صدغيه) (٥) -حتى كادت تملأ نحره، قال: عوف ولا أدري ما كان مع هذا من النعت فقال ابن عباس: لو رأيته في اليقظة ما استطعت أن تنعته فوق هذا (٦).
Hazrat Yazid Farsi says that I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream during the time when Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was the governor of Basra. So I mentioned to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I had seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. He asked, "Can you describe his appearance?" I replied, "Yes! His stature was medium, he had the best smile with a wheatish complexion, eyes with kohl, a beautiful face. His beard filled his face from here to here," and he pointed towards his temples, "so much so that it was close to filling his chest." 'Awf says, "Other than these attributes, I do not remember." So Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "If you had seen him while awake, you could not have described him better than this."
