Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Zakariya narrates that I heard Hazrat Amir saying about the woman who passed away, leaving behind three sons and two daughters, and one of the daughters was absent in the evening while the other was present with her. She thought that the absent daughter had some wealth with her, and she said to her sons, "I want you to search for the wealth that is with her, in exchange for what she will receive from the inheritance." They said, "Yes!" And she said, "I want to give her share of the inheritance to her sister, so that she receives as much wealth as a man receives." They said, "Alright." Then, after the inheritance was distributed, her daughter came and demanded her share of the inheritance. She said, "I have no wealth for her." So Ibrahim said, "An equal share will be taken from each person and given to her." And Hazrat Amir said, "Out of the two shares that the girl took, one share will be taken and returned to her sister, so that each receives one share and each man receives two shares."
