Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Abu Bakr bin Amr bin Hazm narrates that a woman from the tribe of Muharib gifted the wala’ (right of inheritance) of her slave to them and freed him, and also freed them. He says that then they gifted their wala’ to Abdur Rahman bin Amr bin Hazm, and when that woman died, the mawali presented the case before Hazrat Uthman. Hazrat Uthman asked for evidence regarding this, and when they brought the evidence, Hazrat Uthman said: "Go and make wala’ with whomever you wish." Abu Bakr says that they made wala’ with Abdur Rahman bin Amr bin Hazm.
