Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim narrates that Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to divide the issue of "Akdariyyah" into eight shares: three shares for the husband, three shares for the sister, one share for the mother, and one share for the grandfather. He says that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to divide this issue into nine shares: three shares for the husband, three shares for the sister, two shares for the mother, and one share for the grandfather. Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) also used to divide this issue into nine shares: three shares for the husband, three shares for the sister, two shares for the mother, and one share for the grandfather. Then he would multiply this by three, making a total of 27 shares. Thus, the husband would get nine shares, the mother six shares, and from the remaining twelve shares, the grandfather would get eight shares and the sister four shares.
