Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim says regarding the man who dies leaving his grandfather, full brother, and paternal half-brother: the grandfather will receive half of the estate, and the full brother will receive the other half. This is the opinion of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give the grandfather one third of the estate and the full brother two thirds. In the division, he included the paternal half-brother with the full brother, but did not make the paternal half-brother an heir.
