Hadith 33305
٣٣٣٠٥ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عبد اللَّه بن خالد عن عبد الرحمن بن معقل قال: كنت عند ابن عباس فسأله رجل عن الجد فقال له ابن عباس: أي أب لك أكبر؟ فلم يدر الرجل ما يقول، فقلت أنا: آدم، فقال ابن عباس: إن اللَّه يقول: ﴿يَا بَنِي اَدَمْ﴾ (١).
Abdur Rahman bin Mu’qil narrates that I was with Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) when a man asked him about the grandfather. He said to him: Which of your fathers is greater? The man did not understand his answer. I said: Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him). He said: Allah Himself says: O sons of Adam!
