Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim says that two full sisters are entitled to two-thirds of the inheritance, and the remaining wealth is for the uterine brothers and sisters, such that a male receives the share equal to that of two females. This is the opinion of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him). According to the statement of Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), two full sisters of the deceased are entitled to two-thirds, and the remainder is only for the male siblings of the deceased, not for the females. Hazrat Abu Bakr says that this issue will be resolved according to both opinions by the number three: two-thirds of the wealth is for the sisters and daughters, and the remaining one-third will be distributed among the brothers and sisters, or among the granddaughters and sons of the deceased, such that the share of a male is equal to that of two females.
