It is narrated from Ibrahim that Masruq held the same opinion as Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding full sisters, consanguine brothers, and consanguine sisters, that the remaining wealth after the two-thirds should be distributed among the men, not among the women. It so happened that once he went to Madinah Munawwarah, and when he returned, his opinion had changed to that the remaining wealth should also be distributed among both men and women. The narrator says that Alqamah said to him, "Who turned you away from the opinion of Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him)? Do you think there is anyone more trustworthy than him?" The narrator says that he replied, "No! But I met Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), and I found him among those with firm knowledge, so I followed him."
