Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ata narrates that Hazrat Sa’d bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) distributed his wealth among his heirs according to the Book of Allah, and then one of his wives gave birth to a boy. Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a message to Hazrat Qais bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: “Allocate the right of this boy!” He replied: “I cannot undo what Hazrat Sa’d has already distributed, but whatever share comes to me, I give it to this boy.” Thus, Hazrat Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) accepted his statement.
