Hadith 32714
٣٢٧١٤ - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الأسدي قال: أخبرنا يحيى بن المهلب أبو (كدينة) (١) عن الأعمش قال: ذكروا عند ابن عمر الخلفاء، وحب الناس تغييرهم فقال ابن عمر: لو ولي الناس صاحب هذه السارية ما رضوا به -يعني عبد الملك ابن مروان (٢).
It is narrated from A'mash that people mentioned the caliphs in the presence of Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said that people like to change them. Upon this, Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that even if the person by this pillar becomes the ruler of the people, they will not like him either, meaning Abdul Malik bin Marwan.
