Hadith 32073
٣٢٠٧٣ - حدثنا عفان قال: حدثنا حسان بن إبراهيم عن سعيد بن مسروق عن (يزيد) (١) بن (حيان) (٢) عن زيد بن أرقم قال: دخلنا عليه، فقلنا له: قد رأيت خيرًا، (صحبت) (٣) رسول اللَّه ﷺ وصليت خلفه، فقال: نعم، وإنه خطبنا (فقال) (٤): "إني تارك فيكم كتاب اللَّه، هو حبل اللَّه من اتبعه كان على الهدى، ومن تركه كان على الضلالة" (٥).
Hazrat Yazid bin Haban narrates that we went to the service of Hazrat Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him), so we said to him: Indeed, you have seen goodness, you have kept the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and you have prayed behind him. So he said: Yes! Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us and said: I am leaving among you the Book of Allah. This is the rope of Allah; whoever follows it will be upon guidance, and whoever abandons it will be upon misguidance.
