ما يدعو به الرجل إذا رأى الهلالSupplication Upon Sighting the New Moon
Hadith 31732
٣١٧٣٢ - حدثنا يعلى بن عبيد قال: حدثنا حجاج بن دينار عن منصور عن مجاهد عن ابن عباس أنه كره أن (ينتصب) (١) للهلال ولكن يعترض فيقول: اللَّه أكبر الحمد للَّه الذي (أذهب هلال) (٢) كذا وكذا (وجاء بهلال كذا وكذا) (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Mujahid says that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) considered it disliked to stand up specifically for sighting the new moon. But when it became visible in front of him, he would recite these words: Allah is the Greatest, all praise is for Allah who took the moon away like this and like that, and brought the moon like this and like that.
