Hadith 31383
٣١٣٨٣ - حدثنا عفان بن مسلم ثنا حماد بن سلمة أخبرنا سعيد الجريري عن أبي نعامة أن عبد اللَّه بن مغفل سمع ابنه يقول: اللهم إني أسألك القصر الأبيض عن يمين الجنة (إذا دخلتها) (١)، فقال: أي بني، سل اللَّه الجنة وعذ به من النار، فإني سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: "سيكون قوم يعتدون في الدعاء" (٢).
Hazrat Abu Naamah narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Mughaffal heard his son making the following supplication: "O Allah! I ask You for a palace of white pearls on the right side of Paradise when I enter it." So he said: "O my son! Ask Allah for Paradise, and seek Allah's protection from Hellfire. For indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Soon there will be people who will be excessive in their supplications."
