Hadith 31082
٣١٠٨٢ - (حدثنا أبو بكر قال) (١): حدثنا أبو معاوية عن عاصم الأحول عن أبي عثمان وعبد اللَّه بن الحارث عن زيد بن أرقم قال: لا أقول لكم إلا ما كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: "اللهم إني أعوذ بك من العجز والكسل، ((والبخل والجبن) (٢) والهرم وعذاب القبر) (٣)، اللهم آت نفسي تقواها، أنت وليها ومولاها، أنت خير من زكاها، اللهم اني أعوذ بك من علم لا ينفع، ونفس لا تشبع، وقلب لا يخشع، ودعاء لا يستجاب" (٤).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Al-Harith narrates that Hazrat Zaid bin Arqam once said: I supplicate for you with the same supplication that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to make: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, miserliness, and cowardice, from old age and the torment of the grave. O Allah! Make my soul righteous, for You are its Guardian and Master; You are the best to purify it. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a soul that is never satisfied, from a heart that does not fear, and from a supplication that is not answered.
